The following weaknesses were observed from candidates’ work:

-poor skill in dimensioning;
-failure to produce building drawing to specifications;
-failure to adhere to the given instructions on the question paper.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be taught on:

-the proper methods of dimensioning building drawings;
-the legal and financial implications of not producing drawings to the given specifications in construction industries;
-the importance of reading instructions on the question paper before answering the given questions.
-In addition, candidates should be given ample building drawing assignments in order to enhance their flexibility in drawing.
