The following shortcomings were observed from the candidates work:
- inability to produce drawings to scale;
- failure to label and dimension drawing part;
- poor knowledge and skills of geometric construction.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be:
- given drawing assignments that will test their knowledge of different types of scale used in Building Construction.
- provided with posters (posted at conspicuous places in their drawing studio) illustrating various conventional dimensioning techniques.
- weil grounded in the rudiments of technical drawings which includes geometric construction. This could be done by given them assignments that will test these parameters.
