(a) What is a balanced diet?   [3 marks]
(b) Name the classes of food stating the importance of any two to human diet. [8marks]
(c)  In.a tabular form, state the source, substrate and end products of the following enzymes;
(i) ptyalin;
(ii) pepsin;
(iii) lipase. [9 marks ]

OBSERVATION

Question two was a popular question with the candidates. Most candidates attempted this question and scored high mark. Most candidates could correctly define a balanced diet and name the classes of food as well as their importance to humans, however many candidates lost marks due to poor spelling. In stating the end products of ptyalin candidates wrote simple sugar, carbohydrate and so lost marks, the expected answers are:
