The standard of the paper was high and compared favourably with those of previous years. The rubrics were clear, the questions were unambiguous and within the scope of the syllabus. The marking scheme was exhaustive and flexible. The performance of the candidates was slightly poorer than that of the previous year with a mean score of 21 and a standard deviation of 9.38 compared with a mean score of 22 and a standard deviation of 11.31 for May/June 2006 WASSCE.
