Most of the candidates did fairly well in some couple of questions, but many
-did not show good understanding of electrostatics/ capacitance, application of formulae, units;
-found it difficult to list advantage(s)of a moving-coil instrument;
-showed inadequate understanding of circuit analysis as depicted in their ability to determine the e.m.f of a generator;
-have shallow knowledge of protective devices/installations.
Suggested Remedies
The candidates needed
-more exposure/practice in arithmetical processes;
-to be taught by well trained and experienced teachers;
-to relate this subject to their world.
