OBSERVATION

Very few candidates attempted this question and their performance was not encouraging. Question 2(a) was poorly attempted as most candidates could not state the major function of the parts of the tractor. The expected answers include:
                 '
Major function of parts of the Tractor
(i)   Power takeoff shaft - Source of power, for some attached implements
(ii)  Draw bar- For hooking farm implements to be drawn,
(iii) Three point linkage - For mounting some farm implements e.g. plough
(iv) Hydraulic system - For lifting and lowering mounted implements
(v)  Check chains- To check the sideways swinging of mounted implements
(vi) Wheels - To provide the means of traction
However, in question 2(b),most candidates could state the maintenance practices to be carried - out on a tractor to ensure maximum efficiency. Also, in question 2(c), many candidates were able to give the use of the tractor.
