Majority of the candidates could not:
- give the characteristics of agricultural systems in West Africa;
- explain the ways in which land tenure systems affect agricultural production;
- explain primary and secondary tillage implements;
- state the precautions a farmer should take when spraying chemicals;
- list the ways in which nitrogen is lost from the soil;
- state the importance of the Nitrogen cycle;
- explain the processes leading to the formation of nitrate from organic matter in the Nitrogen cycle;
- describe the mode of formation of sedimentary rocks;
- list the features of natural pastures;
- calculate the population of the legume at one seed per stand and the expected plant population;
- give the ways in which stylosanthes gracilis is important in agricultural production;
- explain terms such as steaming up, culling; candling, weaning, tattooing and creep feeding;
- discuss the effects of temperature on brooding of chicks, reproduction in livestock, milk production and egg production;
- explain the law of diminishing returns;
- discuss how factors such as price, weather, technology, subsidy and government policy affect the supply of agricultural produce;
- state how the law of diminishing returns affect agricultural production.
